How'd you get started

where have you been

what have you done

"The first time I saw a ventriloquist on TV, I was hooked."

A guy takes out a wooden dummy from a suitcase, sits him on his knee, and asks the little guy to say hello to the audience.

"I can't do that," says the little guy.

"Why not?"

"My mother told me not to talk to strangers!"

The audience laughs. They clap.

They just saw a piece of wood come to life.

I just saw my future.

Steve's all grown up, and now he's

the guy with the suitcase. In fact, he's

got lots of suitcases, and has

taken them all over the world.

First job:

One of Denmark's major

newspapers, "Berlingske Tidende,"

gave Jack the title of,

"Hele Danmark's Kæledyr,"

("Denmark's Favorite Pet")

after his first TV appearance.

...followed by a three month

European tour, which somehow

took fifteen years to complete.

During that time, he performed at

numerous corporate functions,

and learned to entertain and hold

some very diverse audiences.

Then, the unthinkable happens:

Jack goes solo and becomes

a cartoon. "There's no hard

a puppet. It's really the only

other direction he can go in."

for me," Jack said. " I lost my

sense of control, and felt manipulated.

That's why I went back to
